Moveo MCP server

The Moveo MCP server connects your AI tool to your Moveo account. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that connects AI tools to external services. You can connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, or VS Code. Then you can ask it to build an AI Agent, add knowledge, run simulations, or find out why a conversation went wrong.

Server URL​

Use the URL of the region that hosts your Moveo account. Most accounts are in Europe.

In most clients, you sign in with your Moveo login in the browser, and you do not need an API key. The server acts with the permissions of your Moveo user.

Connect your client​

Claude Code​

The Moveo plugin adds the MCP server and four skills for common jobs: build an AI Agent, build a Knowledge Base, test an AI Agent, and get started.

  1. In Claude Code, add the Moveo marketplace and install the plugin:

    /plugin install moveo@moveo

  2. Run /reload-plugins.

  3. Run /mcp, select the server of your region, and sign in with your Moveo login. The plugin names the servers plugin:moveo:moveo (Europe), plugin:moveo:moveo-us (United States), and plugin:moveo:moveo-br (Brazil). Sign in to one server only.

The two other servers show "needs authentication". This is normal. The plugin repository has the source and the update steps.

To connect without the plugin, run this command with the server URL of your region. Then run /mcp to sign in. This example uses the Europe URL:

Claude and Claude Desktop​

You add Moveo as a custom connector. All Claude plans can add custom connectors. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

  1. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click +, then Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the server URL of your region. If Claude asks for a name, enter Moveo.
  4. Click Add. When Claude asks, sign in with your Moveo login.
  5. In a chat, click + → Connectors and turn on Moveo.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector first in Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web. Each member then goes to Customize → Connectors, clicks Connect, and signs in with their own Moveo login.

ChatGPT​

ChatGPT connects to custom MCP servers in developer mode. Developer mode is available on the Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education plans, on the web.

  1. Go to Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to ChatGPT Plugins and click +.
  3. Enter Moveo as the name, a short description, and the server URL of your region.
  4. Click Create.
  5. In a chat, click +, select Developer mode, and select Moveo.
  6. When ChatGPT first calls a Moveo tool, sign in with your Moveo login.

Codex​

The Moveo plugin works in Codex too. Run these commands in your shell:

For the United States, sign in to moveo-us. For Brazil, sign in to moveo-br.

Cursor​

Cursor does not support the browser sign-in of Moveo yet. You connect Cursor with a Moveo API key of the type Manage.

  1. Create a key. See API Keys. Only Admins and Owners can create API keys. If you have another role, ask an Admin or an Owner of the account.

  2. In your shell profile, export the key as MOVEO_API_KEY.

  3. Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Replace acme with your account slug, and use the server URL of your region.

  4. Restart Cursor.

VS Code​

You need VS Code 1.106 or later. Click the link for your region, then install the server in VS Code:

When VS Code asks, confirm that you trust the server. Then sign in with your Moveo login in the browser.

Other clients​

Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP can connect with the server URL of your region. If the client does not support the browser sign-in, use a Moveo API key of the type Manage. Only Admins and Owners can create API keys. See API Keys to create one, and send these two headers:

Keep the key in an environment variable. Do not write the key into a file that you commit.

Test the connection​

Ask your client "What can I do with Moveo?". The client calls the Moveo tools and replies with your account name and the actions it can take. Then try one of these requests:

  • "Build a support AI Agent for our online store from this brief: returns within 30 days, and hand over to a human for damaged items."
  • "Make the Store support agent answer from https://help.example.com."
  • "Run the simulations for the Billing agent and tell me which scenarios failed."
  • "Session 5b0e7c1a-9d2f-4c3e-8a61-2f4d7e9b1c30 went wrong yesterday. Find out why."

What you can do​

The server has about 100 tools and 10 guided prompts. It covers these parts of Moveo:

  • AI Agents: create, clone, update, train, publish, compare versions, and roll back.
  • Guidelines and workflows: read, validate, and change guidelines, workflows, and intents.
  • Knowledge Bases: add websites, FAQs, and files, search the content, and publish.
  • Tools: add and test the webhooks and MCP servers that an AI Agent calls.
  • Simulations: create and run simulations, and read the results.
  • Environments: manage integrations and routing rules.
  • Conversations: send test messages and read session transcripts.

Some features are available only in the Moveo dashboard. An example is a channel that needs an OAuth connection. If a request needs the dashboard, the client tells you.

Security and access​

  • Changes to an AI Agent or a Knowledge Base go to a draft first. Your customers see nothing until you publish.
  • Changes to environments, integrations, and routing rules take effect at once. An active rule changes the routing of live conversations. Review these changes before you approve them.
  • The server marks each tool that changes data. Claude on the web and desktop asks you before it calls such a tool. In Claude Code and other clients, your permission settings decide.
  • The browser sign-in can reach AI Agents, Knowledge Bases, environments, integrations, and simulations. It can also read conversation transcripts, which contain the messages of your users. It cannot change account settings, members, billing, or API keys.
  • If an administrator removes you from the account, your browser sign-in stops within 15 minutes. An API key continues to work until an Admin deletes it. When a person who used an API key leaves, delete the key.
  • To disconnect a client, remove the connector or the server from the client.
  • Transcripts and documents can contain text from your users. Read the changes that the client suggests before you publish them.

Frequently asked questions​

The client shows the wrong account, or no account​

First, make sure that you signed in with the correct Moveo login, and that you are a member of the account. If you are a member, your account is in another region. Connect to the server URL of that region, and sign in again.

I have access to more than one account​

The client asks which account to use and names it on each request. To fix one account for the whole connection, add the account slug to the URL, for example https://mcp.moveo.ai/mcp/acme. The account slug is the short name of your account in the Moveo URL.

The client asks me to sign in again​

Sign-in tokens expire. In Claude Code, run /mcp, select the server, and select Re-authenticate. In other clients, disconnect Moveo and connect again.

I cannot sign in with my browser​

The browser sign-in needs a Moveo login. If you cannot sign in, use an API key as described in Other clients.

Can I limit the tools that the client sees?​

Yes. A large tool list uses more of the context of the model. Add ?surface= and the name of a tool set to the server URL, for example https://mcp.moveo.ai/mcp?surface=knowledge. The tool sets are authoring, operations, knowledge, and simulations.

Is there a rate limit?​

Yes. The server accepts 600 requests per minute from one IP address. Above the limit, the server returns the HTTP status 429.
