Publish

Content created from Q&As, Documents, Webpages, and External Sources is initially assigned a Draft status. This means the content is not yet utilized by live AI agents, but can be thoroughly tested using the Test knowledge base feature.

Why use draft status?

Draft status allows you to:

• Test before going live - Verify content works correctly with your AI agent
• Review for accuracy - Ensure information is correct and up-to-date
• Stage updates - Prepare new content without affecting production
• Collaborate safely - Multiple team members can add content without impacting users

Publish content

To change the status from Draft to Published and enable the content for live AI agent use:

1. Click the Publish button to open the publishing modal.
2. Within the modal, select the documents you want to publish.
3. Press the Publish button to finalize the process.

Bulk publishing

Publish all draft documents at once by clicking Publish all in the modal.

When content becomes a draft

Source of the content	Status when Moveo adds it
Q&As, documents, and webpages added in the console	Draft.
Documents uploaded through the API or the MCP server	Draft, always. The upload call has no option to publish.
External sources	Draft. For Google Drive, Keep published status stops the content from going back to draft after an edit.
Pages that a scheduled crawl finds for the first time	Draft.
Pages that a scheduled crawl updates	The page keeps its status. A published page stays published.

Publish through the API or the MCP server

API

Send PUT /v1/collections/{collection_id}/publish with a manage API key. See Publish draft documents. Set exactly one of these fields:

• include_all: true publishes every draft document.
• include_document_ids publishes the listed documents.

You can also send exclude_document_ids and datasource_types to narrow the set.

MCP

moveo_publish_knowledge_base with knowledge_base_id and include_all: true, or with include_document_ids. Wait until each document has the status available before you publish.

Always test your content before publishing. Use the Test knowledge base feature to verify your AI agent responds correctly.
